:: Heart Like Autumn Leaves ::

::

walking barefoot through desolation

earth like iron,

streams like stone;

leaving behind a blessed station,

to take on life of flesh and bone.

::

walking willing through certain suffering

wind like daggers,

flame like frost;

choosing a death of broken offering,

ransoming what had once been lost.

::

walking b’twixt the living and dying

fears like lovers,

friends like theives;

crackling leaves on the wind a’flying;

in winter heart like autumn leaves
