hunger, thirst, asphyxiation . . .

November 12, 2007

my wife is the most important person in my life

to say i hunger and thirst for her would not be intense enough. to say she is the air that i breathe is more accurate.

hunger can be satisfied. thirst can be quenched. but after each breath you always need another.

i need my wife like that.

and i am left gasping and desperate when we fall out of synch, whether through work or illness or just the general craziness of life. we have been bombarded with all three of late and it has left us both gasping and unfulfilled.

what i love about her most is that she needs me just as much

and even when we fall out of synch, she still holds on.

some days that is all we have.

just the holding on

waiting for a day we can actually share.

or even an hour.

or just a small, stolen moment.
