today i am ::

turning over a new leaf

taking control of my life

and excited to be doing so

today i am ::

cutting up the credit cards

(a symbolic gesture)

and calling my card creditors and telling them to cancel my accounts

(the real deal)

today i am ::

free

(tomorrow i get cracking on paying those leeches off once and for all . . .)

    Bravo! Don’t backslide! Best of luck–it’s hard to break the habit of buying ‘instantly’ but well worth it once you’ve got your creditors off your back.

    Congrats!!!

    This is a decision gf and I made a while back . . . living completely debt-free. We’re still working toward the goal, but the credit cards are all paid off and gone.

    Good luck on this step as well.

    Awesome! GReat first step, it’s better and better from here.
    It feels good getting things under control again. It took us 10 years to recover from our previous rough financial black hole (due to trying to help out family members – bad, bad, bad idea), but each day it got better and better. Now I only keep 1 credit card for emergencies. If we use it for xmas shopping or on vacation, it’s only so we don’t have to carry the cash (but the cash is in the bank and it’s paid off right away).

    Yay! That is the BEST thing you can do. It really is. Get rid of ’em and never look back.
    I have been credit card free for a year now and it’s absolutely wonderful!

    Yay for you! Husband and I have been working toward that goal, but slowly.

    credit cards — little plastic demons.

    best to set them on fire and return them to hell, where they belong.

    cut, cut, and cut, oh wise man.
