a new kind of gold Digger

April 27, 2007

so i’m driving in to work today

when i see this pretty little girl driving a pretty little sports car

you know the kind :: mama’s smile, daddy’s credit cards, and the car (which cost 3 of mine, easily) for her sixteenth birthday

which was probably last tuesday by the look of her

::

i’m sure she knows she’s hot and has never wanted for anything a day in her life.

this is the girl that caused me no end of grief in high school with her giggling friends and her horrified *as if* glare should she ever catch me glancing her way with a grin.

so i stared maybe a second or two longer that was probably safe in traffic and sure enough she felt the weight of my gaze and glanced my way.

i flashed her the devils own grin.

and she gave me that horrified glare.

but this wasn’t high school. my grin and her horror had a totally different root.

and it was me that got to drive on laughing.

::

because i’d caught her ::

with her finger rammed up her button nose at least to the first knuckle . . .

. . . diggin fer gold!
