stephen’s Simples :: world’s best iced Tea

March 3, 2007

ingredients ::

2 whole lemons

1 whole lime

2 cups sugar*

6 tea bags (i use lipton)

directions ::

boil 4 cups water

while water is boiling, fill gallon pitcher halfway with ice. then fill with water (but leave room for the water you’re boiling). cut lemons and lime into quarters and squeeze into pitcher. drop rinds in as well (note :: if keeping over night, fish rinds out after one hour or tea/lemonade will be too strong).

once water boils, add tea bags and remove from heat. allow to steep about ten minutes (if you are making lemonade, skip this step). remove tea bags and add sugar to tea (or to hot water if making lemonade). stir and pour into pitcher.

stir contents of pitcher. serve in glasses with ice.

*note :: the diet version of these drinks uses no sugar. instead, add sugar substitute by the glass to taste.
