walking barefoot through desolation ::

earth like iron,

streams like stone;

leaving behind a blessed station,

to take on life

of flesh and bone.

walking willing through certain suffering ::

wind like daggers,

flame like frost;

choosing a death of broken offering,

ransoming what

had once been lost.

walking b’twixt the living and dying ::

fears like lovers,

friends like theives;

crackling leaves on the wind are flying;

in winter heart

like autumn . . . leaves

    This is a strong poem, and highly stylized too! Loved it.
